The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced …ponement of the orientation course for prospective corps members deployed to Niger State under the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream.
The scheme said the decision became necessary following ongoing renovation work at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko, Niger State.
The renovation is being carried out by the Niger State Government after the camp suffered extensive damage from a recent windstorm.
Naijaonpoint reports that the Director, Information and Public Relations of the NYSC, Caroline Embu, disclosed this in a statement issued by the scheme.
According to her, the orientation course could not proceed as earlier planned because of the condition of the camp facilities.
She said the management was already making urgent arrangements to secure an alternative venue for the affected prospective corps members.
The NYSC said a new commencement date and other relevant details would be communicated to the affected prospective corps members in due course.
The statement urged the affected corps members to await further information from the scheme through official channels.
It added that the management was working to ensure that the orientation course is held under safe and suitable conditions.
The scheme expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by …ponement.
Embu said the management regretted any disruption the development might have caused prospective corps members and their families.
The statement read in part that the decision was taken because of the “ongoing renovation of the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko, Niger State, being undertaken by the Niger State Government following extensive damage caused by recent windstorm.”
The NYSC assured the affected prospective corps members that further updates would be released once arrangements for the alternative venue and new date were concluded.
