A Nigerian man has sparked reactions online after sharing his opinion on the ongoing political conversations surrounding Peter Obi and the ADC presidential ticket.
He criticised suggestions that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar should step aside for Obi, insisting that politics is about strategy and fighting for opportunities, not being handed them.
In his words, he said:
“I just saw a video of somebody saying Atiku should not contest for the ticket to run under ADC, that they should give it to Obi. So you’re telling me Obi left LP without any alignment to secure ADC ticket? This guy is a poor politician.”
The man went further to compare Obi’s approach with that of President Bola Tinubu, whom he described as a skilled political strategist.
He argued that political tickets are not handed over freely, but fought for, citing past political battles and alliances as examples.
“So you’re telling me they have to hand it over to him? Atiku should just say don’t give me, I’ll be fine? It’s not given; it’s collected. I may not like Tinubu, but that guy is a good politician. Do you remember what they did when he fought to collect that ticket? The people that stepped down, do you think they did it willingly?
He also referenced Nyesom Wike, suggesting that if he were in Obi’s position, the political landscape would be more aggressive and competitive.
“Imagine it was Wike in Labour Party with the kind of support they gave Obi. By now Tinubu would have been hospitalized,” he added.
His comments have added to the heated political debates online, as Nigerians continue to analyse strategies and alliances ahead of future elections.
