The family of late veteran actor Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has announced the remaining burial programmes as it thanked fans, colleagues and well-wishers who attended his burial in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday.
Veteran actor Prince Jide Kosoko announced the programmes on behalf of the family in a Facebook post on Wednesday, expressing appreciation for the large turnout at the burial.
The family said the presence of fans, friends, colleagues, associates and well-wishers demonstrated the love and respect they had for Ogogo during his lifetime.
“Your massive presence at the burial was a great demonstration of the love and respect you had for Ogogo while he was alive. We sincerely appreciate every one of you,” the family said.
It also prayed for the continued blessings and protection of those who supported the family during the mourning period.
“May Allah reward you abundantly, bless you and your families, and ensure that no calamity comes upon you in your lifetime,” the family added.
According to the family, the remaining burial rites will be marked by two major events, beginning with the 8th-day Fidau Prayer.

The prayer is scheduled to hold on Monday, August 31, in Ilaro, with the family inviting Ogogo’s friends, colleagues, fans and well-wishers to attend and pray for the repose of his soul.
The family urged sympathisers to “come en masse to Ilaro” to pray for Ogogo and seek Almighty Allah’s forgiveness and grant of Al-Jannah Firdaus for the late actor.
The 8th-day prayer will be followed by a 40-day Artists’ Day in Honour of Ogogo, scheduled to take place 40 days after his burial at Pavilion Hall, Ilaro.
The event will feature performances by actors, musicians, comedians, singers and other entertainers as they celebrate Ogogo’s life, career and contribution to the entertainment industry.
Kosoko described the event as “a tradition and a fitting tribute from members of the entertainment industry to one of our great icons, whose contributions to the industry will not be forgotten.”
The event will be coordinated by the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN).
Ogogo died on Sunday, August 23, after battling stage four cancer.
