Former Senator Shehu Sani has appealed to political parties and candidates involved in the Osun State governorship election to accept the outcome and avoid challenging it in court.
Sani made the appeal in a post on X, urging politicians and lawyers, particularly Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs), to allow the matter to rest and shift their attention to the 2027 general elections.

“My own appeal is that nobody should go to court over the Osun election,” Sani said.
“I take God beg lawyers, especially big big SANs, and politicians to let the matter rest. Let’s focus on 2027.”
The former senator also made a humorous reference to the Latin phrases commonly used by lawyers, writing: “For the lawyers, since you only speak Latin, Noli ad iudicium adire.”
His comments followed the conclusion of the Osun State governorship election, which saw the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke retain the seat.
Sani’s appeal comes amid heightened political activity and preparations by parties and candidates for the 2027 general elections.
