According to a report by The Sun News, on Saturday, July 18, 2026, retired Major General Ishola Williams has expressed support for Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s request for an independent international investigation into the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, as well as the circumstances surrounding their rescue.
Williams stated that the governor’s appeal was in line with approaches that had been adopted during previous national security challenges in Nigeria.
