Paul Pogba has left AS Monaco after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with the Ligue 1 club, with the French midfielder now available as a free agent.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday that “Paul Pogba leaves AS Monaco by terminating the contract mutually and he’s now available as free agent.”

Romano added that clubs in Major League Soccer (MLS) and the Saudi Pro League had already made contact regarding a possible move for the 33-year-old midfielder.

“MLS and Saudi Pro League clubs already called in the recent weeks with decision to follow next,” Romano said.

Pogba joined Monaco in June 2025 on a contract that was initially due to run until June 2027, as he sought to revive his career after an 18-month doping suspension.

However, his spell in the Principality was heavily disrupted by injuries. He made only six appearances for Monaco, including one start, and played 115 minutes in total.

Monaco confirmed the termination on Wednesday, saying the decision followed a shared assessment that the objectives set when Pogba joined had not been fully achieved.

The World Cup winner had hoped to regain his best form and return to the France squad, but recurring physical problems limited his involvement during his only season with Monaco.
