The Kano State Police Command has foiled a kidnapping attempt in Garun Mallam Town, Garun Mallam Local Government Area of the state, rescuing the Sarkin Noman Kano, Alhaji Yusif Nadabo, who was abducted during the attack.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, on Sunday, the command said the incident occurred at about 11:30pm on August 29, 2026, when suspected bandits invaded the town and began shooting sporadically into the air.
The statement said the attackers abducted Nadabo during the incident and shot three residents of the town, identified as Yusif Nasiru, 20; Salisu Garba, 20; and Ibrahim Hassan, 20.
“Upon receipt of the report, a team of policemen comprising tactical teams and patrol teams from the Command, as well as reinforcement from neighbouring Divisions, were immediately mobilized to the scene,” the statement said.
