
KANO, Nigeria – The Kano State Police Command has detained popular TikTok personality, Fati Cele, following the death of her boyfriend, Isma’il Makaye, at her residence in Kano State.
According to reports, the incident occurred at Fati Cele’s home in the Danbare area of Kano. Witnesses alleged that the social media influencer raised an alarm, claiming there was a fire in her residence, prompting neighbours to rush to the scene.
Residents who reportedly entered the house discovered Makaye with severe injuries, including burns and traces of blood on his body. He was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical treatment but was later confirmed dead.
The deceased, identified as Isma’il Makaye, was said to be a cosmetics trader based in the Hotoro Tishama area of Kano. Following his death, his remains were released to family members and buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
In response to the incident, officers from the Dorayi Babba Police Division took Fati Cele into custody as part of an ongoing investigation aimed at determining the circumstances surrounding Makaye’s death.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kano State Police Command had not officially disclosed the cause of death or announced any criminal charges against the TikTok personality. Authorities have, however, assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway.
