President Bola Tinubu has congratulated elder statesman Chief Samuel Olu Falae on his 88th birthday, praising his lifelong dedication to Nigerian public service and democratic reform.
In an official statement released on Monday by Presidential Adviser Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Chief Falae as a patriot whose contributions to the nation’s political development have secured him an enduring place in Nigerian history.
Chief Falae previously served as Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Minister of Finance. He was also a co-founder of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), a prominent pro-democracy movement that campaigned against military rule in Nigeria during the 1990s.
Highlighting Chief Falae’s role in the struggle for constitutional governance, President Tinubu commended his courage in defending citizens’ rights and democratic principles during one of the country’s most tumultuous political eras.
The President concluded his tribute by wishing Chief Falae continued good health, strength, and wisdom.
