Renowned Kano oil marketer, Audu Manager, dies at 68

A prominent Kano-based oil marketer and real estate businessman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ahmad, popularly known as Audu Manager, has died at the age of 68.

His son, Surajo Audu Manager, confirmed the death to DAILY NIGERIAN, saying the businessman passed away in the early hours of Wednesday at Saudi German Hospital in Cairo, Egypt, after a prolonged illness.

According to him, arrangements are underway to bring the deceased’s remains back to Kano for burial on Friday.

“The funeral prayer will be held at Jami’ur Rahma Juma’at Mosque in Kano after the Friday congregational prayer. However, if there is any delay in the arrival of the body, the burial will take place after the Asr prayer,” he said.

The late Audu Manager was a well-known figure in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector, owning a chain of filling stations across the country. He also had extensive investments in real estate, farming and other businesses.

He is survived by his wives, children, and numerous relatives.
