Robert Glenn Lawler (born March 20, 1982) is a retired American mixed martial artist. He fought professionally from 2001 to 2023, mainly in the Welterweight and Middleweight divisions of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he became UFC Welterweight Champion. Lawler also held the Middleweight title in EliteXC for the longest period in that promotion’s history. In addition, he competed in PRIDE FC, Strikeforce, the International Fight League (IFL), KOTC, SuperBrawl, and ICON Sport, where he was also Middleweight Champion.
Known as “Ruthless,” Lawler built a reputation for his aggressive fighting style and was a fan favorite. Three of his title fights, against Johny Hendricks at UFC 171 in 2014, Rory MacDonald at UFC 189 in 2015, and Carlos Condit at UFC 195 in 2016, won Fight of the Year awards in their respective years.

Early Life
Robbie Lawler was born on 20th March 1982 in San Diego of California in the United States of America. When Robbie was 10, he moved with his father to Bettendorf of Iowa, and started his karate training. He studied at Bettendorf High School and got honors of All-state in wrestling there. At the age of 16, he came in contact with Pat Miletich, and after being graduated, he started training with the Fighting System of Miletich in 2000.
