The Bole Senior High School teacher dismissed by the Ghana Education Service over a viral video involving a female student has now claimed the student is his girlfriend and announced his intention to marry her, while appealing to the public and government to forgive him and reverse his dismissal.
In a new video fast trending on social media, the teacher asked GES not to suspend him from teaching, framing his planned marriage as a resolution to the controversy that has surrounded him since the video first surfaced.
His latest claim has not been corroborated by GES, the student, or her family, and directly contradicts the framing under which GES first acted, treating the matter as a serious safeguarding breach involving a teacher and a student under the school’s care, not a personal relationship between consenting adults.
The National Council of Parent-Teacher Associations had previously called for his prosecution and permanent removal from teaching, describing the earlier conduct as a betrayal of trust.
GES has not issued a response to his marriage announcement or his renewed appeal for reinstatement as of the time of filing this report.
