Skydiving plane crashes in US state of Missouri, killing all occupants

A plane crash near the Butler Memorial Airport in the US state of Missouri has killed all 12 people on board, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said on Sunday that the crash occurred near the Butler Memorial Airport.

“At this time, reports indicate all occupants (12 total) have perished,” the agency wrote in a post on X.

The private plane was carrying 11 skydivers and a pilot, turned around for an unknown reason after taking off, and crashed near a highway, prompting authorities to close the road, local media reports said.

State troopers, local police, and the Bates County Sheriff’s Office are currently managing the scene.
