President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has described the Hausa people as important contributors to Nigeria’s unity and progress, while highlighting the growing influence of the Hausa language as a language of communication and commerce.
Tinubu stated this in a message marking Hausa Day, which is being celebrated at the historic Daura Palace in Katsina State.
The President said the Hausa people remained “great pillars” who play a vital role in strengthening Nigeria’s unity and advancing the country’s development.
“The Hausa people are great pillars that play a vital role in the unity and progress of Nigeria,” Tinubu said.
He also noted the widespread growth of the Hausa language, describing it as a major language of unity and commerce both within Nigeria and internationally.

“The Hausa language, without doubt, has flourished and has become a major language of unity and commerce across the world,” he said.
Tinubu congratulated members of the Hausa community on the occasion, extending his greetings to participants and the wider Hausa community as the celebration takes place at the historic Daura Palace.
“I congratulate the vast Hausa community on the occasion of Hausa Day, which is being celebrated at the historic Daura Palace today,” the President said.
