President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian filmmakers Damilola Osikoya of Switch Visual Production and Nora Awolowo of Rixel Studios on their Guinness World Record achievement for the largest attendance at a film screening.
The record was set during the screening of Black Market in Lagos on September 26, 2026.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday, President Tinubu commended the filmmakers for their creativity, enterprise and ambition.
The President described the achievement as further evidence of the talent driving Nigeria’s creative industry.
He said the creative economy was building businesses, creating jobs and opening new markets for Nigerian talent, while film, music, fashion and art continue to take Nigeria’s stories and culture to audiences around the world.
According to the President, the success of Black Market demonstrates what can be achieved when Nigerian creativity is combined with enterprise and scale.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating more opportunities for young Nigerians to build livelihoods and globally competitive businesses from their talents.
President Tinubu also commended everyone involved in the production and screening of Black Market, wishing the team greater success in the future.
