The daughter of the Nigerian President, Mrs Bintu-Fatima Tinubu has pledged to support the mandate of Business Women of Influence for Rewed Hope Agenda to advance the course of women in Nigeria.
She made the pledge during the inauguration of the group in Abuja.
Bintu-Fatima Tinubu, who is also Matron of the initiative noted that Nigeria today stands at a time every citizen has a role to play in nation building, adding that women in particular occupy a unique and strategic position.
She commended the wife of the President, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu whom she described as a woman of grace, compassio and exceptional service.
“I am particularly passionate about the empowerment of women at the grassroots level. The resilience and determination of our women in the grassroots deserves recognition and support.
“A true compassoinate society is one that lifts children, widows, persons with disabilities and families facing hardship. I encourage members of this group to remain united, focused and committed.
“As your Matron, I pledge my support, encouragement and prayers for the success of this movement. I have no doubt that together we can create opportunities.
“We can also inspire hope and contributes significantly to the advancement of women and the process of development in Nigeria.
“Let us move forward together with courage, purpose and hope. May the Almighty God bless the Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope Agenda, ” she said.
Also speaking, the Founder/Convener of the Initiative, Dr Ngozi Oyewole said the inauguration signified the launch of a movement.
“It is a support group committed to mobilising, empowering, mentoring and amplifying the voices of women who believe in the greatness of Nigeria and the promise of a bright future.
“Through this movement, we will provide mentorship, capacity building, strategic partnerships, business support advocacy and leadership development for women across Nigeria.
“Nigeria is writing a new chapter; a chapter of reforms, resilience and bold leadership.
“And at the centre of that chapter is President Bola Tinubu, a leader who has consistently demonstrated uncommon courage in taking difficult decisions for the long term prosperity of our nation.
“He needs to be supported in 2027 to continue the good works he has started in 2023.
She further explained that the Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope Agenda is working with different groups and has members in the 774 local governments across the country.
Similarly, the President of National Council for Women Society (NCWS), Mrs Edna Azura commended Oyewole and her team for coming out with a brilliant initiative that compliment the mandate of the NCWS.
“We have not reached the 35 per cent affirmation for our women. Let’s love and respect one another and struggle in unity to ensure the voices of women are heard in places of authority”.
Azura also tasked Nigerian women to love, guild, train and pray for their children to ensure they do not take into criminal activities in the country.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Abba, the Senior Special Assistant on Disability Matters to the President Tinubu restated the committed of the Federal Government and disability community to support Nigerian women.
He also called for the support of women with disability, adding that the return of Tinubu in 2027 is non negotiable.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that those in attendance of the launching of the Business Women of Influence for Renewed Hope include Sen. Beni Lar, Minister of women Affairs, Imaam Suleiman-Ibrahim and many others. ( NAN)
