US President Donald Trump has announced that an agreement with Iran to end the war between the two nations “has been largely negotiated, subject to finalisation.”
Writing on social media, Trump stated that the historic accord involves the United States, Iran, and various other countries.
“An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalisation between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other countries,” Trump wrote.
He noted that the final aspects and details of the deal are currently under discussion and will be announced shortly, adding: “In addition to many other elements of the Agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened.”
Regional push for deal
The US President said he discussed the prospective deal with several regional leaders during a collective phone call, which he described as a “very good call.”
