Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has been honoured with the Governor of the Year on Infrastructure award by the Independent Newspaper at its 2025 awards ceremony.
The governor also emerged as Best Governor on Health, sharing the recognition with Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo.
The awards were presented at the annual ceremony held in Lagos on Sunday, where notable public officials and institutions were recognised for excellence in governance and service delivery.
Mr Sani was represented at the event by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Patience Fakai.
According to the organisers, the infrastructure award followed the administration’s extensive road development programme, with over 150 projects covering about 1,345 kilometres currently underway across the state within the first two and a half years of his tenure.
They noted that the projects have improved mobility in both urban and rural communities, enhanced road safety, and boosted economic activities by facilitating the movement of goods and services.
The development has also expanded access to social services and strengthened connectivity in previously underserved areas.
In the health sector, the award recognises ongoing reforms and investments targeted at improving healthcare delivery, upgrading facilities, and expanding access to quality medical services across Kaduna State.
In a goodwill message, the Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency, KADRA, congratulated the governor on the recognition, describing it as a testament to his leadership and commitment to infrastructure development and healthcare improvement.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the pace of road construction and delivering durable infrastructure to support the socio-economic growth of the state.
