Former Mr Nigeria, Ugo Nwokolo, has apologised to his fiancée, Precious Happiness Eni, popularly known as The Fruit Girl, amid controversy surrounding their planned November wedding.
In a video shared by Ugo Nwokolo (@ugo_nwokolo_) on X, he revealed that the couple had already begun their traditional marriage rites, with plans to conclude the wedding ceremony in November before details about his past relationships and children became public.
“This was the beginning of our traditional rites. Plans were already in motion for everything to be concluded this November before Pandora’s box was opened,” Nwokolo said.
He explained that the development had left their plans uncertain, noting that the couple had been looking forward to completing their marriage after beginning the traditional rites.
Nwokolo also addressed questions about whether Precious had forgiven him, saying he could not confirm how she currently felt but had apologised and would give her the space she needed.
“A lot of people have been asking me if Precious has forgiven me; the truth is, I don’t know. I have apologised, and I can only hope that, in time, she finds a place in her heart to forgive me. For now, I have to respect her space,” he said.
The former beauty king acknowledged the emotional impact of the controversy, saying he never imagined that something they had anticipated with excitement could suddenly become uncertain.
He also took responsibility for failing to disclose that he had children from previous relationships, acknowledging the hurt his actions had caused his fiancée.
“I take responsibility for my actions, and I promise to learn from this, grow from it, and be a better husband to you going forward. I am sorry, my love,” Nwokolo said.
Nwokolo further stated that he had never previously been married, describing his relationship with Precious as his first attempt at building a home with a partner.
The controversy emerged after Precious reportedly discovered that Nwokolo had two children from previous relationships, with the revelation raising questions about the future of their planned marriage.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the relationship, Nwokolo said he remained hopeful that Precious would eventually find it in her heart to forgive him, while reiterating that he would respect her decision and personal space.
