Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has accused Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of dragging his name into political disputes despite having his own challenges to resolve.
Wike made the remarks during an interview with TVC News’ Journalists’ Hangout on Monday, September 21, 2026.
The FCT Minister described AbdulRazaq as a “timid man” but criticised him for what he said was his decision to involve himself in political matters concerning Wike.
“I have never seen a man with all due respect who so timid,” Wike said while discussing the Kwara governor.
Wike said he had previously met AbdulRazaq and even confronted him at the airport over what he described as his grievances.

“I met him even at the airport. I said, come, what’s your problem?” Wike said.
According to the minister, politicians should focus on resolving their own challenges rather than attempting to draw others into their disputes.
“We all have problems. It should—you should be able to say, look, I have problems, how do I solve my problems?” he said.
Wike alleged that AbdulRazaq had been involved in what he described as propaganda against him and claimed that the governor had denied the FCT what was due to the territory.
“He carries propaganda every day against me. Wike this, Wike that. Give us this, give him what? To do what?” Wike said.
He added that any decision affecting the FCT would not prevent him from challenging what he considers to be its entitlements.
“What you should know is that you are not giving FCT today because of this. I will leave tomorrow. That person will come; the day you want to give them, I’ll tell my state to challenge it in court,” he said.
Wike also questioned why his name was being mentioned in Kwara State’s internal political disputes, particularly over politicians operating under the Peoples Democratic Party.
“Why are you coming to call my name? Simply because they are running under PDP,” he said.
The minister recalled his political battles within the PDP, saying some politicians who previously opposed him had later sought his support after his political position changed.
“Have you forgotten all these people fought me when this fight was going on? They supported my colleagues and told my colleagues to deal with me, that enough is enough of me,” Wike said.
He added: “My colleagues lost and joined them. Now I have won and now you want something from me.”
Wike rejected what he described as attempts to subordinate him politically, saying: “You want me to be a house boy. House boy for what? That’s not possible.”
He said his immediate political priority was supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid and that he would oppose actions he believes could undermine it.
“I am here to make sure anything that would affect the election of Mr. President, the re-election of Mr. President, I will not agree,” Wike said.
