The Women Farmers Advancement Network (WOFAN) Comprehensive Schools and Islamiyya graduated 32 students over the weekend who successfully completed the recitation of the entire Holy Qur’an and repeated it thrice to ensure sustained and accurate pronunciation and understanding of the principal content of the Qur’an.
SolaceBase reports that the graduation ceremony, held at the school’s premises in Kano, attracted dignitaries, academicians, parents, scholars, and well-wishers from within and outside the state.
Speaking at the event, the Proprietress and Executive Board Chair of WOFAN, Dr Salamatu Garba, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the success of the students and efforts of the parents in ensuring they attended the regular and extra classes during this righteous journey.
She urged parents to continue prioritising both sound education and proper moral upbringing for their children, noting that strong values and discipline must complement academic excellence.

Dr Garba also commended the guests for their support and encouragement while urging students who were unable to graduate with the current batch to remain committed to their studies so they could join the next set of graduates. As part of the celebration, the school presented gifts and customised alloh to the graduating students.
The Head of the Islamiyya Section, Mallam Zakariyya Ahmed, said the graduates had demonstrated mastery in Qur’anic recitation and could now recite the Holy Qur’an fluently from beginning to end. He disclosed that 19 of the graduates were female, while 13 were male.
Ahmed commended parents and guardians for their dedication in ensuring regular attendance and active participation of their children in school activities. He also praised the teachers and management for their commitment, patience, and consistency in nurturing the students to excellence in Qur’anic studies.
He assured parents that additional classes would be organised for students yet to complete the programme, enabling them to attain the required standard and join the next graduation cohort.

On his part, the Chairman of the Board of Technical Advisors, Professor Sani Miko, described the increased number of graduates this year as a clear indication of the school’s steady progress.
According to him, the feat reflects the institution’s growing impact, particularly as many of the graduates are between the ages of 11 to 15, while an outstanding 9year old also uniquely emerged among the graduands.
He noted that the school was playing a vital role in supporting parents in raising children with sound moral values while calling on families to strengthen their partnership with the institution by ensuring punctuality and regular attendance.
Also speaking, the Chief Imam of Darul Hadith, Dr Umar Ibrahim Indabawa, emphasised the importance of Qur’anic recitation and urged the graduates to continue deepening their understanding by studying the meanings and translations of the Holy Qur’an.
One of the parents, Khadija Kabir, whose two children were among the graduates, expressed appreciation to Allah and the school management for their dedication.
She praised the institution for its quality teaching, care, and commitment to the moral and spiritual development of the children.
