An old video showing veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, at a naming ceremony has resurfaced online amid his family’s recent disclosure that he is battling stage-four cancer.
The footage, originally shared by his daughter Kira on Instagram in June, showed the actor looking healthy and cheerful as he attended the naming ceremony of Baby Farah Ishola.
Ogogo Seen Looking Healthy in Old Video
In the clip, Ogogo was seen exchanging pleasantries with guests at the event and appearing to be in good spirits.
The footage has since attracted renewed attention following the revelation about his health, with fans expressing concern over how quickly his condition reportedly became serious.
Daughters Reveal Cancer Diagnosis
Ogogo’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, recently made separate emotional appeals for medical assistance, disclosing that their father has stage-four cancer.
Lima said the family only became aware of the severity of his condition about three weeks earlier, adding that his appearance had not initially suggested that he was seriously ill.
Kira also appealed to medical professionals and facilities that could provide further treatment for their father.
Family Appeals for Medical Assistance
Lima said the family was not seeking financial donations but wanted help from anyone who could connect them with medical professionals or hospitals willing to take on Ogogo’s case.
She said:
“He has cancer, and it is really, really bad. And the hospitals are refusing to treat him. At least, please, give this man a chance.”
She further appealed to anyone who could help the actor receive treatment, saying the family was willing to explore available options.
Doctor Clarifies Claims About Treatment
Amid the concerns, medical doctor Olusina Ajidahun explained that stage-four cancer does not necessarily mean a patient has been abandoned by hospitals.
He said treatment options can change depending on the type and spread of the cancer and the patient’s condition, with palliative care sometimes recommended when aggressive treatment is no longer considered beneficial or safe.
Meanwhile, Ogogo’s daughter has also dismissed reports claiming that the actor had died, describing the reports as false.
The resurfaced video has continued to generate emotional reactions as fans and colleagues rally support for the veteran actor and pray for his recovery.
