Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting Kannywood and the wider creative industry as part of efforts to promote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the Kano First Agenda.
In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, following Yusuf’s reception of the leadership and members of Tripple for Renewed Hope at the Coronation Hall, the governor said his administration would continue to support singers, filmmakers, actors and other creative professionals.
Yusuf said the government would provide an enabling environment for creative professionals to develop their talents, achieve self-reliance and contribute to the economic growth of Kano State.
He said, “The creative industry remains an important avenue for youth empowerment, job creation and the promotion of Kano’s rich cultural heritage.”

The governor assured Kannywood practitioners that his administration would strengthen its partnership with the industry and support initiatives capable of creating sustainable opportunities for artists and other professionals.
He also urged members of the creative industry to use their platforms responsibly to promote peace, unity, development and the positive image of Kano State.
Speaking at the engagement, popular Hausa singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, described Governor Yusuf as “a patient and hardworking leader” committed to transforming Kano State.
Rarara commended the governor for his efforts in improving the state and for recognising the important role of Kannywood and the creative industry in the development of Kano.
Also speaking, Kano State APC Chairman, Umar Haruna Doguwa, expressed confidence that the party would record a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections.
Doguwa said the APC was committed to ensuring “a peaceful, credible and hitch-free election,” expressing optimism that the party would emerge victorious at all levels.
He called on party members and supporters to remain united and focused on building on the achievements of the APC-led government in Kano and at the federal level.
The engagement reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government to working with Kannywood and other stakeholders in the creative sector to promote economic empowerment, cultural development and the Kano First Agenda.
