The Adamawa State Police Command says a 27-year-old man, Ali Haruna, who allegedly killed his girlfriend at a hotel in Girei Local Government Area of the state, will soon be charged to court.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in an interview with TVC News, saying the suspect has been arrested and is currently assisting the police with investigations into the incident.
Nguroje said the command swung into action after receiving a distress call and, upon arrival at the scene, found the woman with a slit throat and severe injuries.

He explained that the victim was immediately rushed to a medical facility for treatment but was later confirmed dead by a doctor.
According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly made statements claiming responsibility for the killing after his arrest.
The police spokesperson also said the owner of the hotel remains in custody for questioning, while the command has commenced verification to determine whether the premises was duly registered with the Adamawa State Ministry of Commerce and Trade.
SP Nguroje added that a sharp dagger, allegedly used in the commission of the offence, was recovered from the suspect and would be preserved as an exhibit. He urged members of the public to continue providing useful information to the police to help prevent and tackle crime.
