Five persons were injured in a multiple-vehicle accident involving six vehicles, including a tanker, at Ikpoba Hill in Benin, the capital of Edo State, on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
The Edo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Preye Bedford, confirmed the accident, saying no life was lost.
Bedford said eight persons were involved in the accident, adding that five sustained injuries while three others escaped unhurt.

Bedford disclosed that the accident occurred after the tanker, conveying groundnut oil, suffered brake failure while descending the hill from Ramat Park.
He said the tanker rammed into other vehicles after the driver lost control while attempting to manage the vehicle.
