The South African Police Service (SAPS) has announced a breakthrough in the murder investigation involving the ninth victim in a series of murder cases involving women in Gauteng.
SAPS disclosed this in a post on X, saying three suspects, comprising one man and two women, were arrested over the weekend by members of the Gauteng Murder and Robbery Unit in connection with the murder.
The trio is expected to appear before the Boksburg Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Acting National Commissioner of SAPS, Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, said police were treating all nine murder cases as a priority.
“We remain committed to ensuring that these investigations are pursued with the urgency and determination they require. Our investigators are following all available leads and are working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice,” Dimpane said.
SAPS said further details regarding the case would be presented in court on Monday.
