The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council has said more appointments will be announced as it expands its national campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general election.
The Director of Strategic Communication of the council, Phrank Shaibu, stated this in a statement on Saturday, following the release of the campaign’s latest list of appointments.
TVC News Online reports that ADC on Thursday announced the composition of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections. The campaign structure, described by the campaign as lean and people-driven, will be chaired by Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, while former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, will serve as Deputy Chairman.
In the fresh statement, Shaibu said the list represented an important stage in the organisation of the campaign but was not the final composition of the council.
He said consultations were ongoing and additional responsibilities would be assigned as the campaign structure expanded across the country.
“The campaign is still evolving. Consultations are continuing, and further responsibilities will be assigned as the structure expands across the country,” he said.
Shaibu assured supporters who were not included in the latest list that their contributions had not been overlooked.
“His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, remains deeply conscious of the sacrifices made by those who have stood with him over the years. Loyalty is remembered. Sacrifice is respected. Friendship is valued,” he said.
“To those who may feel disappointed that their names have not appeared yet, we ask for patience and understanding. No one should believe that years of commitment and sacrifice have been forgotten.”
He said the campaign would draw on party members, experienced leaders, professionals, young people and other Nigerians willing to contribute to its activities.
According to him, the campaign would announce its zonal and state structures, additional senior appointments and other levels of organisation extending to wards and polling units in the coming days.
Shaibu also said the campaign was strengthening its policy structure to bring together professionals and others with experience across areas including the cost of living, food security, security, energy, job creation, industrialisation, manufacturing, education, healthcare, infrastructure, housing, public finance, governance, technology and human capital development.
He said the campaign’s objective was to match major national challenges with “serious, practical and implementable policy” responses.
“This is a people-driven national campaign. It will continue to grow organically, drawing strength from Nigerians who share the desire to build a country where life is more affordable, businesses can thrive, young people can find opportunity and families can once again look to the future with confidence,” he added.
“There is room in this journey for every sincere hand willing to serve.”
