The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, the suspended South-West zonal coordinator of the women’s wing of the City Boy Movement.
Tejuosho was arrested on September 8 over an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence.
EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development on Saturday, saying the woman was in the custody of the anti-graft agency.
“She is in our custody,” Oyewale said.
Her arrest comes months after the commission declared her wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged fraud.
The EFCC had in April announced that Tejuosho, 41, was wanted over an alleged case of obtaining money by false pretence.
At the time, the commission identified her as an indigene of Lagos State and gave her last known address as House A26, Aso Grove Estate, Maitama Extension, Abuja.
The commission had also appealed to members of the public who had information about her whereabouts to contact its offices or the nearest police station and other security agencies.
The latest development now places Tejuosho in EFCC custody as investigators continue to examine the allegations against her.
Tejuosho had previously been questioned by the EFCC over allegations connected to an appointment and contract scam.
In June 2025, the businesswoman was interrogated following complaints that she allegedly collected money from individuals after promising to help them secure federal government appointments and lucrative contracts.
Reports at the time linked the allegations to claims that fake appointment letters and other forged documents were allegedly used to convince victims that she had the connections required to facilitate government appointments and contracts.
Tejuosho, who has been identified as the founder of Haleems Integrated Services Limited, was subsequently granted administrative bail while the investigation continued.
The case later returned to public attention after the EFCC issued its wanted notice in April 2026.
The commission did not disclose in the wanted notice the full details of the alleged transactions or the identities of all the persons who may have made complaints against Tejuosho.
However, the agency said she was wanted in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged obtaining of money by false pretence.
The development marked a new stage in an investigation that had been running for more than a year.
Tejuosho’s arrest also follows her suspension by the City Boy Movement after the EFCC declared her wanted.
The movement had announced her suspension in April, shortly after the anti-graft agency released the wanted notice.
The suspension affected her position as the South-West zonal coordinator of the women’s wing of the organisation.
In announcing the decision, the group said it was an administrative step taken pending the conclusion of the investigation.
“This action has been taken as a necessary administrative measure to protect the image, credibility, and ethical standards of the Movement,” the group said.
It added that the suspension was intended to allow the investigation to continue “without interference, obstruction, or undue influence”.
The organisation also stated that the suspension would remain in place pending the “full conclusion and resolution of the matter by the relevant authorities”.
The City Boy Movement is a political advocacy group associated with support for President Bola Tinubu and his administration.
Before her suspension, Tejuosho occupied a prominent position within the group’s women structure in the South-West.
The Movement had earlier distanced its activities from the allegations by suspending Tejuosho and stressing that its decision was aimed at protecting the organisation’s image while the matter was being handled by the relevant authorities.
