Afrobeats singer Magixx has announced the death of his mother, Esther, in an emotional tribute shared on X on Sunday.

The Mavin Records artiste said he was still struggling to come to terms with the loss of his mother.

“I have never felt pain like this. Never been this lost. Still processing that this is real. Can’t believe this will happen to you, Mom,” he wrote.

Magixx described his mother as a fighter who remained strong for her family and others despite her illness over the past six years.

“I watched you fight so hard for your family, friends, and strangers, especially these last 6 years, with a smile on your face, full of life, even in sickness! The strength of your heart!” he said.

He also praised her personality, noting that her kindness and wit endeared her to everyone she met.

“Nobody comes into contact with you and doesn’t fall in love with your free spirit, wit, and kindness. I always tell my friends that ‘if my mom got an issue with you, you’re the problem’ and you somehow proved me right every time.”

The singer called his mother “My reason, my why, my guardian, my twin, my everything,” and said he would choose her again and again in every lifetime.

“I have a billion things to say, but words fail me. Esther! I am going to miss you so much! Nobody can take your place,” he wrote.

Magixx, signed to Mavin Records, rose to prominence with hits including Love Don’t Cost a Dime and Overtime.
