Senator Solomon Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State and representative of Ogun West, has expressed sadness over the death of veteran Yoruba actor, Taiwo Babatunde Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro described his death following an illness as a major loss to the creative and entertainment industry, Ogun State and Nigeria.

“I am greatly saddened by the death of a brother who believed and worked assiduously for my cause and the cause of our people,” Adeola said.

He commiserated with Hassan’s immediate family, particularly over their efforts to care for him during his illness.

“I sympathise with his immediate family for their efforts and struggles to keep the dearly departed alive following his illness. God knows best in all circumstances,” he added.

Adeola said the late actor would be remembered for using filmmaking and other forms of positive advocacy to promote a better society.

He described Hassan’s contributions as a legacy worthy of emulation and assured the family of his continued support during the period of mourning.

“The good deeds of the patriarch of the family to the society will not be forgotten,” the senator said.

Adeola prayed for the peaceful repose of Hassan’s soul and for strength for his family to bear the loss.
