Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo has mourned veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, following his death at the age of 66.
Adebayo, in a post on his Instagram page, described the late actor as a major figure whose contribution to Yoruba cinema would remain unforgettable.
“Some people leave behind memories. Some leave behind a legacy that time can never erase,” Adebayo wrote.
He thanked Hassan for his years in the industry, the stories he told, the lessons he shared and the performances that made audiences fall in love with acting.
“Thank you for the years, the stories, the lessons and the moments that made us fall in love with the craft,” he said.
Adebayo described Ogogo as a major pillar of Yoruba cinema, noting that his influence would continue to inspire generations of actors and filmmakers.
“You were a true pillar of Yoruba cinema, and your impact will live on in generations to come,” he added.
He concluded his tribute by bidding farewell to the veteran actor and celebrating the name by which he was widely known.

“Rest well, Sir Taiwo Hassan. You will forever be Ogogo to us,” Adebayo wrote.
TVC News earlier reported that Hassan’s daughter broke the news of his death in an Instagram post.
Ogogo, who was 66, enjoyed a career spanning several decades and remained one of the prominent figures in Yoruba-language Nollywood.
