A heated confrontation between a preacher and a passerby has sparked a debate on social media after a video showing the alleged assault of the man of God went viral.
According to reports accompanying the footage, the preacher was delivering a public sermon when he spoke against the worship of smaller gods and traditional deities.
During his preaching, he reportedly quoted a Bible verse and described such forms of worship as unacceptable.
The comments, however, appeared to anger a passerby who took offence and approached the preacher to challenge his remarks.
In the viral video, the man is seen walking towards the preacher, taking his microphone and allegedly destroying it before physically attacking him.
The individual was heard questioning why the preacher would insult another person’s belief system instead of concentrating on promoting his own faith.
The preacher, who appeared calm during the confrontation, did not respond verbally and attempted to leave the scene. However, the man allegedly followed him and continued slapping him.
The incident has generated strong reactions from social media users. While some have condemned the alleged assault and called on the Ghana Police Service to investigate the matter, others have criticised the preacher’s approach, arguing that preaching one’s faith should not involve attacking or disrespecting the beliefs of others.
The video continues to circulate online, reigniting conversations about religious tolerance, freedom of expression, and respect for different belief systems.
