The Zamfara State Government has confirmed that about 300 suspected terrorists were neutralised during a major security operation in Gummi Local Government Area of the state. The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Information, Mahmud Dantawasa.
According to the statement, the operation, carried out on July 9, 2026, marked a significant breakthrough in the ongoing campaign against terrorism and other violent crimes threatening peace, security and socio-economic activities in Zamfara State and the wider North-West region.
