According to a video published on the official YouTube channel of Arise News on Friday, July 3, 2026, the Executive Director of the Center for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity, Dr. Umar Yakubu, raised concerns over the handling of the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), calling for greater accountability and stronger oversight within government institutions.
Speaking during a panel discussion, Yakubu argued that the controversy extends beyond the prosecution of a single individual and should trigger a comprehensive review of the systems responsible for monitoring and regulating public institutions. He said the allegations have exposed important questions about how an organisation reportedly described as fictitious was able to operate within the government system without being detected earlier.
