Former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Baba Tela, has lost two of his children, Mustapha and Ummi, in a fatal car crash.
The siblings died on Saturday when the vehicle carrying them was involved in an accident along the Bauchi–Azare highway as they were returning to Bauchi from Azare, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area.
They were reportedly pronounced dead after sustaining fatal injuries in the crash.
Meanwhile, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has commiserated with Senator Tela and his family over the loss.
In a condolence message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor described the incident as tragic, saying the deaths of the two children were a painful loss to the family and the state.

He said the unfortunate development had plunged the Tela family into mourning and expressed sympathy with them at this difficult time.
Governor Mohammed prayed for Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant them Aljannatul Firdaus, and give the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The funeral prayer for Mustapha and Ummi will be held at the Emir’s Palace in Bauchi on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
