Kano JIBWIS declares support for Gov. Yusuf’s re-election bid

The Kano State chapter of Jama’atu Izalatul Bidi’a Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) has endorsed the second-term bid of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, citing his administration’s commitment to restoring hope, accelerating development, and placing Kano State on the path of sustainable progress.

This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Saturday.

The Chairman of the Kano State chapter of JIBWIS, Professor Abdullahi Saleh, made the declaration when he received Governor Yusuf at his residence during a condolence visit following the recent demise of his wife.

The revered cleric expressed profound appreciation to Governor Yusuf for personally leading the condolence visit, describing the gesture as a demonstration of compassion, humility, and respect for religious leaders in the state.

He noted that the remarkable achievements recorded by the present administration have renewed public confidence in governance and repositioned Kano State as a model of purposeful and people-oriented leadership.

According to him, the ongoing projects initiated by Governor Yusuf deserve continuity to enable the administration to consolidate its achievements and fully realise its long-term vision for the state.

Professor Abdullahi Saleh therefore declared the endorsement of Governor Yusuf’s second-term bid on behalf of the Kano State chapter of JIBWIS, expressing confidence that another four years would afford the administration the opportunity to deepen development, expand ongoing reforms, and further improve the welfare of the people.

Responding, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf expressed heartfelt appreciation to Professor Abdullahi Saleh for his prayers, encouragement, and confidence in the administration’s development agenda.

The Governor extended his deepest condolences over the passing of the scholar’s wife and prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive her shortcomings, envelop her in His infinite mercy, grant her Aljannatul Firdaus, and give the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Governor Yusuf also commended Islamic scholars across Kano State for their unwavering commitment to promoting peace, unity, religious harmony, and moral guidance among the people.

He acknowledged the invaluable role played by religious leaders in fostering understanding among their followers and offering continuous prayers for enduring peace, security, and economic prosperity in Kano State and Nigeria as a whole.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with religious institutions, Islamic organisations, and leaders of various religious groups in the state to preserve Kano’s cherished religious and cultural values while promoting peaceful coexistence and sustainable development.

He assured that his administration would continue to implement people-centred policies and programmes aimed at improving the living standards of citizens, in line with the mandate entrusted to it by the people of Kano State.
