The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has unveiled its campaign council ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode among those given key roles.
The structure, released on Thursday by the Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Media Centre, names Prince Tajudeen Olusi as Chairman of the Governance Advisory Council, while Sanwo-Olu will serve as Advisory Council Chairman. Fashola and Ambode are listed as co-chairmen.
The advisory structure also includes President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa; and former Minister of Health, Adeleke Mamora.
At the campaign council level, Sanwo-Olu is chairman, with Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as deputy chairman. Ojelabi Cornelius, Obasa and Damilola Sonayon James will serve as Vice Chairmen I, II and III respectively.
Former Senator Musiliu Obanikoro is Director-General, while Rasaq Ajala is Deputy Director-General and Adekunle Olayinka is Campaign Secretary.
The council also comprises directorates covering legal and compliance, party and inter-party affairs, administration and logistics, traditional institutions, diaspora engagement and residents’ associations.
Lawal Pedro, SAN, heads the Legal and Compliance Directorate, while Moshood Mayegun heads Party and Inter-Party Affairs. Adekunle Olayinka will oversee Secretariat Administration and Logistics.
The council is scheduled to be formally inaugurated at 10am on Friday, September 18, at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
The structure also includes grassroots coordinators across Lagos’ local government areas and local council development areas.
