Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has paid an emotional tribute to his late wife, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, as the family marked the second anniversary of her death with a memorial service in Eket.
The service, held at All Nations Christian Ministry International, brought together family members, friends, associates and well-wishers to honour the memory and legacy of the late First Lady.
Reflecting on the 40 years he shared with his wife, Governor Eno described her as a devoted companion, confidant, friend and partner in their journey through family and faith.
The Governor also read excerpts from his tribute contained in the foreword of a book titled The Patience to Build, written in honour of his late wife by their daughter, Helen.
Governor Eno recalled the joys, sorrows, triumphs and trials they experienced together, describing his late wife as a remarkable woman whose influence extended beyond her immediate family.
He said the book was a precious testimony that preserved memories and lessons about a woman whose greatest investment was not in material possessions or personal achievements, but in her children and family.
“Although she is no longer physically present with us, her values continue to live through our children and the many lives she touched,” Governor Eno said.
He added that her legacy remained alive through the kindness, courage, resilience and faith she helped cultivate in the family.
The Governor expressed gratitude to God for the years they shared and for the lasting impact of his late wife’s life.
A major highlight of the memorial was the unveiling of The Patience to Build, which documents aspects of Mrs Eno’s life, family and legacy.
The service also featured musical ministrations by Jayne Jesus, Reho Sax and Harmonic Voices, as well as a memorial thanksgiving by the First Family.
Pastor Patience Umo Eno died on September 26, 2024, and was buried in November of the same year.
The second-year memorial service provided an opportunity for her family and loved ones to remember her life, celebrate her contributions and reflect on the values she left behind.
