Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, has expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah, his family and the people of Lagos as he marks his 62nd birthday.
Hamzat, in an appreciation post on X, reflected on his life journey and thanked Allah for His blessings, guidance, protection and good health.
He also appreciated his wife, Oluremi, for her support, encouragement and commitment to their family, urging her to remain steadfast as they continue their journey together.
“To my dear wife Oluremi, I say thank you for holding my hands, cheering me on, and supporting me. Thank you for keeping the sanctity of our home. My dear, the journey ahead is long, and might be challenging, but continue to keep the faith,” he wrote.
The deputy governor also thanked his children for their understanding of his commitment to public service.
“To my dear children, I say a big thank you for your kind understanding that I was built and made for service,” Hamzat said.
He extended his appreciation to his family, friends, associates and Lagos residents for their support and confidence in his ability to serve.

“To family, friends, associates and indeed the good people of Lagos, I truly appreciate your support and your vote of confidence in my capabilities and capacity to serve,” he added.
Reflecting on his years of service, Hamzat said every chapter of his life had been a learning experience and renewed his determination to serve the people.
“Every chapter of my life has been a learning curve, and everyday I wake up with a renewed zeal for commitment to the people I serve,” he said.
The deputy governor said turning 62 had strengthened his sense of purpose, noting that there was still more work to be done in building Lagos.
“Therefore, at 62, I look ahead with renewed purpose, knowing that there is still much to do and an even greater Lagos to build,” he said.
Hamzat thanked Lagos residents for their trust and support over the years, adding that he remained ready for the responsibilities ahead.
“The journey continues and I am ready for the work ahead,” he said.
