Malam Abbas Bamalli, the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) Correspondent in Katsina, was, on Friday, sworn in to serve on the Executive Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Katsina State chapter.
NAN reports that Bamalli was sworn in as Secretary, while Aminu Garba-Dandagoro of the Katsina State Television was sworn in as Chairman.
Also sworn in was Auwal Halliru of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Katsina, who is to serve as the Vice Chairman.
Other executive council members included Yunusa Umar from Companion FM, the Assistant Secretary, while Shehu Abubakar from Katsina State Radio is Treasurer.
Also, Hamidu Sabo from the BluePrint Newspaper was sworn in as the Financial Secretary, while Yasir Abubakar from the state television is the Internal Auditor.

Speaking at the inauguration, the NUJ President, Mr Alhassan Yahya-Abdul, congratulated the executives for emerging victorious through a consensus.
Represented by Tukur Muhammad, the NUJ Vice President, North-West zone, Yahya-Abdul noted that their emergence reflected the confidence reposed in them by the members of the various chapels.
He urged them to foster unity, mutual understanding and professionalism among members, emphasising the need for strict adherence to the ethics and constitution of the union.
In his remarks, the new NUJ Chairman, Garba-Dandagoro, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them to lead and promised to accommodate all shades of opinions in his administration.
Garba-Dandagoro expressed readiness to work with all members towards moving the council to a greater level.
He further appealed to members to support and cooperate with the executive members to enable them to succeed.
The Chairman pledged to work with the executive council towards the growth and development of the union, while prioritising the welfare and well-being of all members.
In their separate remarks, the immediate past Acting Chairman of the Council, Isma’il Adamu, and the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Abdullahi Tanko, urged the new leadership to unite members to pursue noble goals. (NAN)
