NBA President Constitutes 20-Member Transition Committee Ahead Handover

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has constituted a 20-member Transition Committee to facilitate the handover process to the association’s newly elected national officers.

 


In a notice issued on Thursday, Osigwe said the committee would work closely with a corresponding transition committee to be established by the President-elect, Oyinkansola Badejo Okusanya, SAN, to ensure a seamless transfer of responsibilities.

 

According to the NBA President, the committee is expected to ensure a smooth transition, address any challenges that may arise during the handover process, and enable the incoming administration to commence service to members without delay.

The committee will be chaired by Jonathan G. Taidi, SAN, with Princess Hadiza Afegbua serving as Co-Chair. Other members include Eko Ejembi Eko, SAN; Fidelis Mbadugha, SAN; Adeyemi Pitan, SAN; Johnnie Agim, SAN; Tolu Babaleye; Matthew Osume; Abubakar Gajam; Daniel Kip; Nkechi Ezike (Secretary); Bamiji Adeyeye; Maria Akpan; Adedayo Akeredolu; Magaji Umar; Rashidat Abimbola Hassan; Umoh Edet; Chinekwu Akpe; Napoleon Idenala; and Oluwole Akintokunbo.

 

Osigwe said the committee may conduct its business through physical or hybrid meetings and will liaise with the Transition Implementation Committee to be established by the President-elect.

 

He thanked members of the committee for accepting to serve and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver a smooth and effective transition.
