Nigeria and Somalia have discussed measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation in key areas including education, security, trade and investment, diaspora management, culture and the creative economy.
The discussion took place in Mogadishu during the presentation of copies of Letters of Credence by Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to Kenya, with concurrent accreditation to Somalia, Danlami Ibrahim, to Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdisalam Abdi Ali.
The development was disclosed by Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a post on its X handle on Tuesday, August 25.

According to the ministry, the Nigerian envoy and the Somali minister discussed ways to deepen relations between both countries, with emphasis on areas capable of supporting regional stability and economic growth.
“The Minister and Ambassador held discussions on strengthening Nigeria-Somalia Bilateral Cooperation for Regional and Economic Growth,” the ministry said.
The areas identified for enhanced cooperation include education, security, trade and investment, diaspora management, culture and the creative economy.
