The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has endorsed the G-100 process aimed at creating an all-opposition political front to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The party announced its position in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary of the Interim National Working Committee, Ini Ememobong, on Tuesday, September 1.
The PDP said its decision was informed by what it described as the hardship Nigerians are facing under the Bola Tinubu-led APC Federal Government and the need for opposition parties to unite to “salvage” the country.
The party said it had endorsed the G-100, a group of 100 opposition stalwarts, as part of efforts to create a common platform capable of defeating the incumbent APC in the 2027 elections.

According to the statement, the decision aligns with the PDP’s earlier position of working with “like-minded political parties and organisations” seeking to address the challenges facing the country.
The party’s factional National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, said the PDP’s participation in the process would be based on transparency, equality and other principles.
“Our participation is anchored on the promise that the process will be hinged on the philosophical underpinnings of transparency, equality, data-driven decisions and egalitarianism,” Turaki said.
He added that a process guided by such principles would produce credible leadership capable of addressing poverty and insecurity.
“Any result birthed by a process midwifed by these virtues will certainly offer Nigerians a credible leadership capable of alleviating the skyrocketing poverty and rising insecurity in the country,” he said.
The PDP said its participation in the first meeting of the G-100 on August 31, 2026, demonstrated its readiness to contribute to the formation of an all-opposition platform ahead of the 2027 elections.
The party said the proposed platform would seek to take power from the APC and “rebuild Nigeria for the good of all Nigerians.”
