Peter Obi, ADC leaders meet with Gov Bala Mohammed [VIDEO]

Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate for Labour Party and a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress met with Bala Mohammed, the incumbent governor of Bauchi State.

Obi met with the governor, who currently serves as the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum upon his arrival in Bauchi on Thursday, April 23.

POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that both politicians are currently in a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Lounge of the Government House, Bauchi.

Sources privy to the meeting said Obi’s visit is not unconnected to some of the developments within Nigeria’s political ecosystem.

The source also noted that the duo were focused on addressing some of the challenges facing the polity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Also, in a post made on X, Obi’s personal photographer Esther Umoh shared videos of her principal’s meeting with the Bauchi State governor.

In another post, Umoh also quoted Mohammed assuring that he is ready to work with the former governor of Anambra state to bring good governance to Nigeria.

“We are ready to work with Peter Obi politically to ensure the birth of a new Nigeria,” Umoh quoted the governor.

Recall that there have been claims that Governor Mohammed is on his way out of the PDP.

His expected exits from the party follow a barrage of crises that have rocked the party leadership leaving the governor in loggerheads with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

While many political analysts suggest that Mohammed would be joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC ), the governor had in March said his preferred destination was the ADC.
