Peter Obi Opens NDC Campaign Office in Delta

Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, says his economic transformation agenda is aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians, rather than producing figures that exist only on paper

Mr Obi says development should not be measured only by government statistics, but by its impact on the lives of ordinary citizens.

He stated this in Asaba while inaugurating the NDC campaign office in Delta State, where he called on Nigerians to support the opposition as the country prepares for the 2027 general election.

Obi also spoke about his personal approach to leadership, saying his lifestyle and travels reflect his belief in the need to develop Nigeria to a level where citizens can find opportunities and quality services at home.

The event attracted thousands of supporters and party members who gathered to receive the presidential candidate and other party leaders.

Also present was former Deputy President of the Senate and the party’s Delta governorship candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege.

Mr Omo-Agege said his return to active political engagement is driven by his determination to help the Urhobo people advance development.

He said his absence from the National Assembly in recent years created a gap he intends to address by returning to the green chamber

The Delta governorship candidate also expressed confidence in his ability to challenge the incumbent, promising to prioritise development and deliver what he described as tangible improvements in the lives of Deltans.

For the NDC, the opening of the campaign office marks the beginning of its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, with party leaders calling on supporters to take the campaign to communities across the state.
