The Plateau State Government has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Barkin Ladi and Mangu Local Government Areas of the state over recent security breach in the areas.
The Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joyce Ramnap, announced the curfew in a statement issued on Monday, September 21, 2026.
Ramnap said the move was aimed at ensuring public order and curb emerging security threats in the areas.
Ramnap stated that the curfew would commence on Monday, September 21, noting that movement had been restricted between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
She stated: “Effective Monday, September 21, the restriction of movement is between 6:00p.m. and 6:00a.m. till further notice.

“This administration has taken the measure to allow law enforcement agencies to stabilise the area, protect lives, and prevent any breakdown of law and order within local communities.
“Therefore, all residents of affected areas are expected to fully comply with the government’s directive for their ownsafety.
“Citizens are advised to plan their daily commercial, agricultural and personal activities in line with the restrictions to avoid unnecessary hardship or friction during the quiet hours.”
Ramnap noted that security operatives have been directed to strictly enforce the curfew and the ban on use of motorcycles in the affected areas with immediate effect.
The commissioner, however, reassured law-abiding citizens of Plateau State that the security personnel would be professional in carrying out their duties.
