Renovation works force NYSC to postpone orientation in two states

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced a change in the schedule for the opening of orientation camps for prospective corps members posted to Enugu and Osun States.

According to the NYSC management, the opening of the camps in these two states has been shifted by one week. This means that corps members going to Enugu and Osun will not resume at the same time as those posted to other states.

The reason for the delay is that both camps are currently undergoing renovation work carried out by the state governments. Because of this ongoing construction and improvement, the camps are not yet ready to receive corps members.

For the other 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the orientation exercise will still begin as earlier planned. It is scheduled to start on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, and end on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.

However, for Enugu and Osun States, the new dates are now Tuesday, 28 April 2026, to Monday, 18 May 2026.

The NYSC advised all affected prospective corps members to take note of the new timetable. They are also expected to follow the updated schedule carefully to avoid confusion or missing their orientation programme.

The organisation added that the adjustment is temporary and only affects the two states where renovation work is ongoing.
