NFL star Stefon Diggs is refusing to hand over details of his NFL contract to his male sexual assault accuser, Christopher Blake Griffith, arguing that his financial information is irrelevant to the case.
According to TMZ, Stefon’s legal team has asked a judge to dismiss Griffith’s request for information regarding his pro football income. Stefon maintains that he has not claimed any loss of income related to the case and insists that his NFL earnings are not pertinent to the ongoing legal proceedings.
Stefon Diggs, former player for the New England Patriots, is currently battling Griffith’s claims that the two men were involved in a sexual assault incident in May 2023. Griffith alleges that the two attended a basketball game together, and later went to Stefon’s home, where he says the NFL star drugged and assaulted him. Griffith further claims that the alleged assault continued days later.
However, Stefon denies the allegations, stating in court filings that he went to bed after returning home and did not assault Griffith.
Griffith’s attempt to obtain Stefon’s financial documents as part of his sexual assault case has raised eyebrows, with Stefon arguing that the request is baseless and that no additional documentation is necessary.
At present, the judge has yet to rule on whether Stefon will be required to provide details related to his NFL contract. This is just the latest chapter in Stefon’s ongoing legal battles, including a previous case where he was acquitted in an unrelated criminal matter involving his ex-chef, who accused him of assault.
The legal fight continues to unfold as the court weighs its decision on whether Stefon must comply with Griffith’s request for further financial documents.
