“Why are you people calling me Mr. Ibu?” — Jarvis reacts as fans call her Mr. Ibu

Popular content creator Jarvis has expressed frustration after social media users repeatedly compared her to Mr. Ibu, saying the comments amount to body-shaming.

In a viral video circulating online, Jarvis addressed the trend, questioning why many people had started referring to her as “Mr. Ibu” because of her appearance.

Who is Mr. Ibu? What is wrong with you? Why are you calling me Mr. Ibu? I saw that thing in the comment section today. ‘Jarvis don turn to Mr. Ibu?’ I am not that big as you think,” she said.

To counter the claims, the influencer stepped away from the camera to show her full body, insisting that she had not gained as much weight as people were suggesting.

See, I’m okay. I’m not that big. I’m okay. Please, make una no dey call me Mr. Ibu again. You people are body-shaming me,” she added.

The video has since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with users divided over her remarks.

While some continued to speculate about her appearance, others defended her and urged people to stop making hurtful comments about her body.

One user, Saliu Adekunle, wrote:

When it’s all set and done so you and Peller dey nack all this while and Peller no mistakingly talk about am and we all think man can’t hold water.”

Another user, identified as GOD, commented:

“If she’s not pregnant, then she’s getting fat… make she no feel bad if her man start to dey carry woman outside.

Great-Jude also shared his opinion, saying:

This girl isn’t taking good care of herself. Small money go enter their hand then go just sit back, relax, eat rubbish and blow up like bomb, then start wondering why men stopped finding them attractive.”

Omotayo Ajide wrote:

Jarvis don dey fat or she don get belle for Peller? But if this girl marry Peller, that boy no fit last, I swear.”

Claire added:

She don dey fat dey go. She con even dey resemble Peller. Are you guys sure she isn’t really pregnant?”

However, not all reactions were critical. Destiny defended Jarvis, writing:

She just said you people are body-shaming her, which means it makes her sad. Can you idiots just stop calling her Mr. Ibu?”
