The Governor of Katsina State, Umaru Dikko Radda, has vowed never to betray the family of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The governor stated this when he received a delegation of All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders from the Daura, Mai’adua, and Sandamu Federal Constituencies, who paid him a visit to introduce Yusuf Buhari, the son of the late Muhammadu Buhari, as an aspirant from the constituency.
Radda said that, as a beneficiary of Buhari, it would be impossible for him to betray his family in any way.
Governor Radda recounted how he had benefited from the late President since 2015.
“I can never betray Buhari’s family. I have been a beneficiary of his good reputation since the days of the CPC to date. Buhari is late now. May his soul rest in peace. Therefore, I wish Yusuf well and all the best in your political pursuit,” he said.
He explained that in a democratic setting, the APC will not prevent anyone from contesting because Yusuf Buhari is in the race, noting that Yusuf’s father had contested alongside many others before eventually winning; therefore, ‘everyone is free to contest.’
The Governor urged Yusuf to build a name for himself as he ventures into politics.
Earlier in his remarks, Yusuf Buhari thanked the stakeholders from the federal constituency and pledged not to let them down. He said the support he has been receiving from constituents has been very encouraging and assured them that he would justify their confidence by meeting their expectations.
